We specialise in lime plastering on all substrates, with particular expertise in plastering cob. Our work often follows the seasons; when the external lime rendering period ends in September or October, we move indoors to continue with lime plastering projects throughout the winter.
All of our internal plastering is carried out using a soft lime putty mix. We carefully replicate the number of original coats being repaired or replaced—this may be one or two coats for simpler work, or up to four coats for the highest quality finish.
The backing coats are applied in thicker layers, incorporating hair and coarser aggregates to provide strength and reduce shrinkage. The thinner top coats are mixed with finer aggregates and lime putty, or in some cases, pure putty alone, to create a smooth, traditional finish.
