This is a small and personal business. My aim is to provide private clients with a first class service. I repair old buildings; use only traditional building materials; have an expertise in the use of lime for mortar repointing and rendering. I carry out repairs to brick, flint, stone and cob walls.
Projects have included the repair of an historic cob walled garden in Salisbury. The property is grade 2 listed. This was a chalk cob wall and the repair techniques I used were covered by Marianne Suhr of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) in her latest television programme ‘Project Restoration’. Another project, again a grade 2 listed building, is a classic Wiltshire brick, flint and chalk house. This needed repair to both gables, replacement bricks and chalk and repointing with lime mortar rather than cement.
I can help you with your repair problems. I offer consultation, advise on conservation issues and will carry out the actual repairs. When other skills are required, I have the contacts and will offer a project management service.
Being a small business means you get me; the consultant, the project manager and the craftsman all in one, on site throughout the project. I also do not have to charge VAT.
I work in Wiltshire and the neighbouring counties.
