We were pleased to take part in a recent episode of BBC Radio 4’s Open Country, which explored the enduring influence of Stonehenge on traditional crafts in Amesbury and the surrounding villages.
The programme followed presenter Helen Mark as she met local makers including a thatcher, cob wall builder, and timber frame craftsman, all helping to keep historic skills alive. During the discussion, Bernard and Brian shared their knowledge of cob construction in the area, including traditional techniques and its strong connection to the local vernacular architecture.
