Projects - Figheldean New Build Cob Wall

Another timber framed house, grade 2 listed. My repairs here were to the cob walls of the main house and to a side cob wall which had a very large lean over a neighbours driveway. Again a site meeting was arranged with the Salisbury Conservation Officer to agree that buttresses to the leaning wall were less preferable to a new build cob chalk wall. This was achieved with cob blocks and reusing the old cob that was taken down. The walls of the main house were pinned, repaired and once the cement render was removed, new lime render was applied. The wall was then re-thatched.
