Projects - Haxton Repointing

 

This was a typical Wiltshire brick, flint and chalk house. There had been a large amount of re-pointing in sand and cement. The result was that the chalk in particular and the brick in places had been worn away as the moisture travelled through the masonry rather than the mortar. My repairs were to replace the chalk and brick as required, to clear out the cement mortar, to match the older lime mortar that I found under the cement and then re-point.
